About AI Checker Detector

Founded by Sanjay Saini, a 30+ year IT veteran and AI consultant, AI Checker Detector is an independent testing lab for AI detection tools. Learn who we are and how we work.

Hi, I’m Sanjay Saini – the person behind AI Checker Detector.

I’ve spent more than three decades in the IT industry, and for the last several years I’ve been working specifically as an AI trainer, coach, and consultant for businesses and teams. That work, helping organizations adopt AI responsibly, train their people on it, and figure out where AI-generated content belongs (and where it doesn’t), is exactly what led me to build this site.

Why this site exists

Every week, I get the same question from clients, students in corporate workshops, HR leaders, and content teams:

“How do we know if this was written by AI?”

And right behind it:

“Can we actually trust the tools that claim to detect it?”

The honest answer is complicated. AI detection tools in 2026 are not created equal. Some are genuinely useful. Some are marketing dressed up as science. Some have false positive rates high enough that reputable universities have disabled them outright – Vanderbilt and Curtin being two well-known examples. And nearly every “best AI detector” list you’ll find online is written by someone who stands to earn an affiliate commission on the tool they rank #1.

That’s the gap this site exists to fill.

AI Checker Detector is an independent resource dedicated to testing, comparing, and explaining AI detection and AI humanization tools, in plain language, with transparent methodology, and with the perspective of someone who works with these technologies professionally every day.

Who I am

I’m based in India. My professional background spans:

  • 30+ years in enterprise IT — across software, systems, and emerging technology
  • AI training and consulting for businesses — through AgileWoW Consulting Services Pvt Ltd, where I help organizations build practical AI capability in their teams
  • Hands-on work with the AI tools I write about — including the large language models these detectors are trying to catch (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and others), the detection platforms themselves, and the humanization tools on the other side of the cat-and-mouse game

You can verify my background and connect with me directly on LinkedIn.

Who this site is for

This site is built primarily for:

  • Content marketers, publishers, and SEO professionals who need to verify the origin of work from freelancers or agencies
  • Educators and academic institutions trying to make sense of AI detection in a world where detectors themselves are fallible
  • HR and recruiting teams evaluating candidate writing samples, cover letters, and take-home assignments
  • Business owners and agency leaders who want an honest read on which tools are worth paying for
  • Writers who’ve been falsely flagged — a growing and deeply frustrated group that rarely gets honest help

How we’re different

Three things set AI Checker Detector apart from the typical affiliate site:

1. Real testing, not recycled marketing copy. Every tool we review gets tested against controlled samples — fully AI-generated text, fully human text, and mixed content. We publish the results honestly, including the misses. Our complete testing methodology is public.

2. Expertise from someone who actually works with AI. I’m not a writer who picked this niche because it ranks well. I train professionals on AI for a living. When I tell you a detector struggles with Claude 4’s output or over-flags academic writing by non-native English speakers, it’s because I’ve watched it happen in real client settings.

3. Transparent about money. Yes, this site uses affiliate links, that’s how we fund the testing, the tool subscriptions, and the time that goes into research. We disclose this clearly on every relevant page and in our affiliate disclosure. More importantly: we will recommend a free tool over a paid one, or tell you to skip a category entirely, whenever that’s the honest answer.

A note on what we don’t do

We don’t sell an AI detector. We don’t sell an AI humanizer. We don’t run a detection service. We’re deliberately independent of the tools we cover, and we’d rather lose an affiliate commission than recommend something that doesn’t work.

We also don’t help anyone cheat. There’s a legitimate ethical debate about AI use in academic and professional writing, and this site engages with it seriously. But our guides on humanizers and detection exist to help writers understand the technology, not to help students commit academic fraud or ghost-write plagiarized content.
